Glen Cove Mayor's Snapper Derby Winners
A total of 270 of snappers were hooked Saturday. Can these kids fish better than you?
About 102 young anglers came to the Glen Cove Mayor’s Snapper Derby and hooked a total of 270 snappers this Saturday.
The annual fishing event brought out children ages 6 to 16 and their family members to enjoy a morning of fishing at Glen Cove’s Pryibil Beach Fishing Pier.
“The conditions were ideal for this year’s Snapper Derby,” Mayor Reggie Spinello said in a press release. “The fish were biting and the kids couldn’t wait to take their best catches to the weigh station as they competed for bragging rights and prizes.”
