Glen Cove St. Patrick’s Day Parade Canceled Over COVID-19
Parade organizers "feel morally obliged to avoid any chance of endangering"event attendees, and look forward to March 20, 2022.

GLEN COVE, NY — The Glen Cove St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been canceled for the second year in a row over COVID-19 virus concerns, according to a news release posted to the organizers Facebook page.
Parade organizers Glen Cove Parade Inc. announced that members “feel morally obliged to avoid any chance of endangering our families, friends, guests, and the community at large by continuing with plans for this year’s parade.”
The group is looking forward to marching again next year in the 32nd parade, and the new date been set for March 20, 2022, according to the news release.

The group went on to thank the community for its understanding, support and the “generous financial response” it received in the continuing appeal for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, which is the parade charity that was chosen by Grand Marshal Gerard Herbert, and his aides, Carolyn McGillicuddy and Eric Hill, according to the release.
