Glen Cove Student Qualifies for State Rifle Championship

Glen Cove High School senior Matt Pemberton has qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Air Rifle Championship at West Point on March 4.

Matthew has participated on the rifle team since seventh grade. He placed second for the Section VIII team, which will compete at West Point Military Academy. His season average was 187.5. Coach Tom De Carlo congratulated Matthew and the entire team for becoming conference champions. The team has won their conference three years in a row and was named Nassau County champion in 2015.
