Glen Cove Superintendent Elected to NYSCOSS Executive Committee
Dr. Maria Rianna Elected to Serve on the Executive Committee for the NYS Council of School Superintendents

Glen Cove, N.Y. — Dr. Maria Rianna, Superintendent of the Glen Cove City School District, was recently elected by her peers to serve on the Executive Committee for the New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS), an organization that helps school superintendents and members succeed on behalf of the children and communities they serve.
Dr. Rianna, elected to the position in recognition of her strong leadership skills, achievements as superintendent in the Glen Cove City School District and the respect she has earned from her peers, will play a crucial role in assisting the committee in its ongoing efforts to transform New York State public education to meet the needs of modern students.
"It is a great honor to be elected to the Executive Committee for the New York State Council of School Superintendents,” Dr. Rianna said. “My colleagues on the committee and I will do everything we can to support school district leadership and staff while ensuring that public schools continue to provide a high-quality education for our children.”

The Council's Executive Committee consists of a 15-member board of active superintendents of school districts, which includes five officers, six elected members and four diversity and under-represented presidential appointments. The Executive Committee, along with the executive director, are the administrative body of The Council.
