Glen Head Family Did Not Care For Dog With Broken Back: SPCA
The injured dog dragged itself around the house and lived in its own feces, according to the SPCA.

A father and daughter from Glen Head were arrested on Friday after failing to care for their injured dog, allowing it to drag itself around the house and live in its own feces, according to the SPCA.
Nassau County SPCA Board President Gary Rogers told Patch ta officials responded to a complaint on Nov. 3 regarding a 5-year-old female pit bull dragging itself around and living in its own urine and feces at a Hill Court home.
SPCA detectives discovered the dog was previously hit by a car and the owners, 69-year-old Gregory Bagwell and 29-year-old Christine Bagwell, weren't following the veterinarian's recommendations for the dog's broken back, officials say.

"They brought [the dog] home [from the vet] and just let it drag itself around," Rogers said.
The dog was embedded in feces and covered in sores, Rogers said.

Gregory and Christine Bagwell were each charged with failure to provide proper sustenance and care.
The dog has been in SPCA's care since Nov. 3. It is in foster care and looking for a forever home. The dog is recovering in physical therapy and may end up needing a cart to move around due to its back injury, Rogers said.
