Long Island Expressway Overnight Lane Closures Expected Next Week
Overnight lane closures are expected one night next week on the Long Island Expressway in the Towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay.
TOWNS OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD AND OYSTER BAY, NY—Motorists should expect two lanes closed one night next week on the Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495) in the Towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay, the New York State Department of Transportation announced Friday.
On Monday, July 1, the eastbound left and HOV lanes will be closed, starting at 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning between exit 39 (Glen Cove Road) and exit 40 (State Route 25/Jericho Turnpike).
Crews will be performing maintenance to overhead sign structures and need a safe work zone. Electronic variable message signs will relay additional information. As with most road and bridge projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to bad weather.
