A popular New York chef has opened a new Greek eatery in Glen Cove last month.

Vilai, located at 284 Glen St., is a contemporary rustic restaurant serving Greek-influenced cuisine with an emphasis on fresh healthy seafood, which is cooked without butter. “If it’s not fresh, it doesn’t belong in my kitchen," said executive chef Gregory Zapantis, who is also the name behind the restaurants Estiatorio Milos, Avra and Thalassa.

Vilai opened its doors on Monday, July 23. The restaurant offers indoor seating for 80 and outdoor seating for 18.
