North Shore School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in North Shore is September 6. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The North Shore School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/6: First Day of School, Elementary Half Day for Students
• 9/7: Elementary Half Day for Students
• 9/19: Elementary Back-to-School Night
• 9/21 - 9/22: No School (Rosh Hashanah)
• 9/27: High School Back-to-School Night

October

• 10/3: Middle School Back-to-School Night
• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans' Day)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/7 - 12/8: Elementary Half Day for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)

February

• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (Mid-Winter Recess)

March

• 3/8 - 3/9: Elementary Half Day for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 3/29: Early Dismissal Drill
• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)
