NYAW Awards North Shore High School Student Scholarship
Emma Arboleda Receives $3,000 Scholarship to Pursue a Career in Biological Sciences

Glen Head, N.Y. (July 1, 2021)—In partnership with the New York Chapter of the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC-NY), New York American Water recently awarded Emma Arboleda of North Shore High School a $3,000 scholarship to pursue her career in biological sciences. This is the eleventh year that New York American Water has offered scholarships to high school students within its service area who have the passion and potential to become the future of the water industry.
“New York American Water is proud to support Emma in her studies at Cornell University and her future career path,” said Lynda DiMenna, president of New York American Water. “Her desire to expand her knowledge is evident in the robust coursework and extracurricular activities she undertook while at North Shore High School. She is very deserving of this recognition and scholarship”
While attending North Shore High School, she received multiple academic honors including, National Honor Society Treasurer, Science National Honor Society President, and a North Shore Community Service Award. She also participated in many extracurricular activities including secretary of both the Mathletes and the Debate Team. Even during COVID-19 restrictions, Emma maintained an active role in Pep Band and Varsity Track and Field.
