SAFE GC Coalition: Bilingual Parent Program During COVID

SAFE collaborated with Project Hope to hear and address parent concerns.

On April 6th, Laurent Caballero, SAFE bilingual outreach worker, and SAFE Coalition Parent Committee Chair, collaborated with Project Hope to hear and address parent concerns. NY Project Hope is New York’s COVID-19 Emotional Support Help service that provides workshops, educational materials, and trusted referrals.

Parents enrolled in Mrs. Caballero’s Life Skills Training program had the privilege of hearing from Claudia Habbit of Project Hope. Ms. Habbit’s presentation consisted of a variety of information that Project Hope provides in aiding individuals who are coping with COVID and its negative consequences. Parents were connected to a myriad of resources such as mental health support, substance abuse, crisis counseling therapy and helping children adjust to this time of isolation.

A recording in Spanish and English for individuals who did not attend this meeting will be found on SAFE’s website.
