Tobay Beach Partially Closed to Swimmers

Ocean side of beach is closed due to rip tides, officials say.

Dangerous rip tides are prompting officials to shut oceans to swimmers across Long Island, including at Tobay Beach.

While the ocean side of Tobay Beach is open to visitors, no one will be permitted in the water until further notice, officials said. Those still wanting to take a dip can head to the bay side of Tobay Beach, which is open to swimmers.

Long Beach waters were also closed Tuesday.
