A Tribute to the Music of Fleetwood Mac at the Glen Cove Village

The Glen Cove Business Improvement District & the City of Glen Cove invite you to join us at the free Downtown Sounds Summer Concert Series

Glen Cove, New York – July 30, 2018 –The Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District ( B.I.D.) and the City of Glen Cove presents The music of Fleetwood Mac when Fleetwood Macked performs on week six of the 2018 Downtown Sounds Concert Series at the Glen Cove Village Square on July 20. Known as the most authentic Fleetwood Mac tribute band in the United States, Fleetwood Macked performs the greatest hits of the renowned band that has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. The show begins at 7:30 pm.

Fleetwood Mac was founded in 1967 as a blues band by guitarist Peter Green, drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Jeremy Spencer. John McVie and Christine Perfect (soon to be Mrs. McVie) joined the group not long after. Other musicians came and went over the years, but when Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks came aboard in 1975, the band transitioned to a more mainstream sound and their pop/folk rock album Fleetwood Mac reached number one on the U.S. charts. However, it was their next album, Rumours, that brought the band to prominence as it included four U.S. top-10 singles and remained number one on the American albums chart for 31 weeks. Indeed, some 40 years later, 40 million copies of Rumours have been sold, which makes it the eighth best-selling album worldwide to date. The group’s members remained stable throughout the early/mid ‘80s with three more studio albums released; however, Buckingham’s exit in 1987 began the departure/reformation dynamic that has defined the somewhat dysfunctional nature of the group ever since.

Fleetwood Macked comprises the husband/wife team of Hillary and Michael Epstein, who assume the roles of Lindsay and Stevie, respectively. Sue Rowe as Christine, Robert Trombley as John and Keith Ross as Mick round out the group. In addition to playing Fleetwood Mac hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, these musicians have all toured on their own playing other types of music. However, their love of the legendary group has brought them together to transport audiences back to another place and time. Complete with costume changes, dialogue and video backdrops, their show is a must-see for anyone who appreciates the music of one of the world’s best-selling bands.
