Trick-or-Treating Restricted, Pet Parade Cancelled
A mandatory curfew of 6 p.m. was issued Wednesday for candy collectors in Glen Cove.

With street and traffic lights still out in much of Glen Cove, trick-or-treating was restricted Wednesday by a mandatory 6 p.m. curfew issued by the city for the safety of children and parents, the city announced.
The curfew is not meant to apply to all residents, just those wishing to go door-to-door, according to the mayor's office.
The city's Pet Parade is also suffering in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Originally postponed to Sunday, the city announced Wednesday that the event was cancelled.
