Wine, Crowlers, More Coming To Glen Cove's Noble Savage Brewery
Noble Savage Brewing Company is taking the "new year, new me" trend seriously.
GLEN COVE, NY — Big plans are in store for Noble Savage Brewing Company. The Glen Cove brewery, which opened in August on Glen Street, will now offer more than just tasty brews.
Frank Bilello, owner and head brewer, told Patch this week patrons can soon expect to see wine, to-go orders and crowlers, which are large aluminum cans used for craft beer. They typically hold 32 ounces of beer
"The crowler machine is almost ready to rock," Bilello said.

He hopes to have the machine installed within the next couple weeks.
Bilello expects his new wine kegerator will arrive early next month. Wine sales could begin as early as mid-January, with Noble Savage planning to offer Bridge Lane Wine to start. More brands could be sold later that offer their wine in kegs.

Kegging doesn't involve bottling, so oxygen doesn't seep into the wine. There's also no degradation from light. Furthermore, it's more economical and easier to handle — there's no corks to deal with.
"In a lot of ways it's a superior packaging form," Bilello said.
Wine will likely only be available in house, but thirsty patrons will be able to buy 32 ounces of beer to-go — and maybe hard cider.
Crowlers will likely be priced at $13 to $15, Bilello said. He hasn't settled on wine prices yet, but has eyed $8 to $10 per glass. That could go up if he begins carrying higher-end brands.
And for designated-drivers and fans of non-alcoholic beverages, Bilello has even more good news: Noble Savage will soon offer sodas, seltzers and other booze-free beverages.
"That'll be coming at the same time as the kegerator," he said.
But perhaps most interestingly, Bilello is weighing hopping on the cannabidiol trend and offering CBD-infused drinks.
CBD is the second most prevalent of the active ingredients in marijuana. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause people to feel "high." The hip ingredient has been praised by many to treat health issues such as childhood epilepsy syndromes, seizures, anxiety and chronic pain.
