The elegance and grandeur of the property is set up perfectly for entertaining, the realtor touts, though it could be reconfigured how a buyer sees fit.

The townhome is fitted with two kitchens and a kitchenette, opportunity to retrofit the rooftop with a roof terrace, skylights, and bedrooms that take up nearly the width of the home. Ceilings on the parlor floor reach 13 feet high. The home is fitted with a wood-burning fireplace as well.

Back in 1993, the home was listed for $1.95 million, according to a New York Times article at the time.

The private park's townhomes rarely go up for sale. Just 383 keys are available for the coveted Gramercy Park, according to a 2012 Times article.

An agreement dating back over a century ago requires property owners to pay more in property taxes for access to the private park. But last year, an analysis by Gothamist and WNYC found that property owners largely pay the same in property taxes than their nearby neighbors without keys to the lush, exclusive greenery for Manhattan's one-percent.

The property at 40 Gramercy Park North is listed at $14,950,000.
