Applicants Have Another Chance to Get on the Waitlist for $952-Month Studios in Kips Bay
The city re-opened a waitlist for affordable housing on 26th St. between 1st and 2nd avenues.
KIPS BAY, NY — You could qualify to apply to put your name down on a newly opened affordable housing waitlist in Kips Bay. The waitlist was re-opened Monday for units in the 14-story building at 330 E. 26th St., between First and Second avenues, called Henry Phipps Plaza South. More than half of the units in the building are earmarked for affordable housing.
You can apply to be waitlisted for studios or apartments with one to four bedrooms in the post-war building for $952 to $1,576, if you're making less than 50 percent of the area median income. It's a pretty good deal considering the average rent in the Kips Bay/Murray Hill neighborhood is $3,823 per month, according to 6sqft. For a $952-month studio, an individual must make between $32,640 and $38,100 per year.
You have until Oct. 11 to apply here. The waitlist is a lottery system.
