Murray Hill Cyclist Hospitalized After Crash, Police Say
A bicyclist was taken to Bellevue Hospital after being hit Tuesday morning near East 38th Street and Second Avenue.

MURRAY HILL, NY — A bicyclist was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being hit in Murray Hill, according to police and fire officials
A 28-year-old man was hit by a Lexus in the intersection of Second Avenue and East 38th Street at about 10 a.m., police said. The man was riding his bike south on Second Avenue when a 30-year-old woman driving the Lexus drove through the intersection heading east on East 38th Street, police said.
An NYPD spokesman could not confirm whether the bicycle or car had the right of way.

When police arrived at the scene the bicyclist was suffering pain to his head and face. Emergency responders treated the biker on the scene for minor injuries and took him to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, said the FDNY.
The woman driving the Lexus stayed at the scene of the collision and was not charged, police said.

The cyclist was hit one day after Bushwick artist Devra Freelander was fatally struck while riding her bicycle in Brooklyn.
Freelander was the 15th cyclist to lose her life in New York City this year after two people died in biking crashes last week.
