BuzzFeed Hands Out Special Edition Print Paper In NYC
BuzzFeed is "testing a new technology called print" with a one-time special edition BuzzFeed newspaper.

UNION SQUARE — BuzzFeed went old school Wednesday, testing "a new technology called print, and unveiling a one-time, special edition BuzzFeed Newspaper."
The digital-era company handed out the print edition to passers-by in Union Square and Penn Station Wednesday.

Ben Kaufman, the company's newly appointed chief marketing officer, and Ben Smith, BuzzFeed News editor-in-chief, were handing out papers in Union Square.

Momo, the creepy character that was reported to pop-up in children's videos on YouTube to tell them to harm themselves, which turned out to be a hoax, graced the cover of the paper.

The print paper's release was just two months after BuzzFeed laid off 15 percent of its staff, totaling more than 220 employees. The remaining staffers at BuzzFeed News have since voted to unionize.
