A spokesperson for the restaurant, located on Madison Avenue across from Madison Square Park, attributed the rise in cost to the city's new labor laws. An increase in the minimum wage to $15 from $13 took effect Dec. 31 in New York City.
The increase comes more than two years after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a law to eventually establish a $15 minimum wage statewide, an accomplishment he has frequently touted.
