Enjoy Union Square With Outdoor Movies, Music And Workouts

UNION SQUARE, NY — For New Yorkers looking for free activities in the neighborhood this summer, Union Square Partnership hosts a laundry list of activities in the park all day long on Thursdays.

From free outdoor movies and fitness classes to kids activities and music, Union Square Partnership's "Citi Summer in the Square" programming has something for everyone.

On August 1 and 8, the movies "Space Jam" and "Ghostbusters" will be shown at the park beginning at dusk in Union Square for Throwback Thursday movie nights in the north plaza.

Bocce USQ's pizza will be served as well as complimentary drinks from Honest Tea, popcorn from Pret A Manger and other snacks from Whole Foods Union Square at the movie screenings. Park-goers are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on.

During the mornings and evenings, yoga, dance, Tai Chi and more will be offered at the park. Kids activities include story time, soccer, and kids' fitness activities. At noon and 5 p.m., live music performances are scheduled in the park.
