UNION SQUARE, NY — The popular Instagram account Overheard New York is launching a two-day newspaper stand in Union Square Thursday morning for the city's kombucha-swilling, oat milk loving millennials.

The social media account, with iterations from Los Angeles to London that take submissions of random overheard tidbits to post to its millions of followers, will be handing out a "millennial-inspired" newspaper Thursday and Friday in Union Square.

"The Overheard Post, New York Edition" will feature "all of the best, and hilariously worst, of New York culture," according to a news release. Giveaways from Le Labo, La Colombe, PLUS Products, and HigherDose will also be at the newsstand.

The paper's verticals aren't what you'll typically see in local print papers in Union Square, where local papers covering New York City news Metro and amNewYork, the latter recently bought by Schneps Media, are still handed out daily for free to straphangers on their commute.

Overheard's sections include a millennial weather report — "cloudy with a chance of seeing three people become engaged" — horoscopes, and subway chronicles.

The print edition arrives to the Big Apple after the media brand launched a Los Angeles version this spring.

Overheard isn't the only digital brands launching old school pop-ups. The digital news behemoth BuzzFeed released a one-day-only newspaper earlier this year.
