Man Attacked By 5 People Near Madison Square Park, Police Say

The group took the 19-year-old's phone and headphones.

MADISON SQUARE PARK, NY — Police are searching for searching for a group of five teenagers who attacked a 19-year-old man and stole his phone near Madison Square Park in December, authorities said.

The 19-year-old was walking down the street near 4 E. 28th St. on Dec. 11 when he was approached by the group of five, which police estimate are in their teens or early twenties. Police said the man was punched in the head and face before the group took his headphones and cell phone.

The attack happened at about 9:55 p.m., police said.

Authorities released surveillance photos of the five people suspected in the assault on Monday.
