New Target To Open In Herald Square
Target plans to open a new store in Manhattan near Herald Square, the company announced on Monday.

HERALD SQUARE, NY — Manhattan is getting a new Target, and company officials say the giant store could be open in Herald Square as soon as October.
The two-level store will open at 112 W 34th St., steps away from the Herald Square Subway station. The company said Monday it has signed a lease for the space with Empire State Realty Trust. The 34th Street location will include: a grocery department, CVS Pharmacy, apparel and accessories, health and personal care products, and more, the company said in a statement.
The 43,000 square foot space will be one of Target's "small-format" stores, dwarfed by the chain's largest locations but still large by Manhattan standards. The midtown outpost will be Target's third location in Manhattan, in addition to the locations in Harlem and Tribeca. The company plans to open additional locations in the East Village and Hell's Kitchen in coming years.
