W Village Restaurant Rosemary's Expands To Stuy Town, Report Says

The owner of Rosemary's will open a second Roey's location in Stuyvesant Town, according to a report.

STUYVESANT TOWN, NY — The owner of popular West Village restaurant Rosemary's will open a sister restaurant in Stuyvesant Town, according to Town & Village newspaper.

The newspaper reported Roey's Stuy Town will open sometime next spring.

Town & Village reported that owner Carlos Suarez recently announced, "I named my restaurant Rosemary's after my mother because I felt that the West Village needed a place to take care of the neighborhood, open all the time, offering a wide variety of delicious food that’s healthy and homemade, all at a reasonable price point."

He wanted to open a restaurant that would draw in students, young adults and seniors when he first opened Rosemary's in the West Village, he said.

"So the name, the concept and the vision of the original Rosemary's, and now Roey's, my mom's nickname, were all decided with the intention of making our West Village neighborhood a better place to live, to work and to visit," Suarez said, as reported by Town & Village.

The new restaurant will open at East 20th Street and First Avenue sometime next spring, Town & Village wrote.

A planted area in front of the future restaurant will be its garden, mirroring Rosemary's rooftop garden used to grow fresh produce for its dishes. The restaurant will takeover the space that was previously home to Petite Abeille and Vamos!, according to Town & Village.

Suarez and his hospitality company Casa Nela also run another Roey's location on Perry Street, as well as Rosemary's, Claudette and Bobo.

Representatives of Roey's and Casa Nela did not immediately respond for comment, but Patch will update this article when more information is available.
