Person Found Dead On Kips Bay Building Roof, Police Say

KIPS BAY, NY — A person was found dead Wednesday morning on the rooftop of a Kips Bay building, police said.

Officers arrived at the building on the corner of Second Avenue and East 28th Street at about 9 a.m. Wednesday and found a person suffering what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, an NYPD spokesman said.

EMS delcared the person dead at the scene, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police are waiting from a report from the city medical examiner before the exact cause of death is determined, an NYPD spokesman said. The identitfy of the person who was found Wednesday was not released by police.
