Cameron McDermott, Long Island Pervert, Admits NYC Rapes

MURRAY HILL, NY — The sex predator Cameron McDermott has pleaded guilty to a string of heinous sex crimes in Manhattan, including filming himself raping women while they were unconscious, prosecutors said Friday.

McDermott, 32, who has been investigated for a long rap sheet of different sex crimes, pleaded guilty to rape and sexual abuse in connection with the 2010 and 2013 assaults, prosecutors said. The convicted rapist was first caught in January, when Long Island police were searching his home after he had flashed multiple women in Garden City over a four-month period, police said. When officers obtained a search warrant for McDermott's home, they found disturbing evidence of violent sexual crimes McDermott committed in Manhattan. Officers also found hundreds of images of child pornography in the search.

Investigators found videos and photographs on his computer and on USB drives showing McDermott assaulting both women in Manhattan. Officers also found hundreds of images of child pornography in the search.

The women in the videos and images were unaware that they had been attacked until authorities informed them, prosecutors said. McDermott was indicted for the Manhattan crimes in June.

McDermott admitted to raping and assaulting women — and recording the assaults — while they were unconscious in multiple incidents in Murray Hill and on the Upper East Side in 2010 and in 2013.

McDermott assaulted one women on five different occasions in a Murray Hill apartment in 2010. He attacked his second victim on multiple occasions in an Upper East Side apartment in 2013.
