GRAMERCY, NY — The team behind famed West Village bar The Up & Up, opened a new Gramercy watering hole Thursday with a boozy slushy, cocktails made with house-made liqueurs and a swanky garden lounge.
Patrons can cool down this summer with "Stay Cold" bourbon and beer slushies at cocktail bar Stay Gold, on Third Avenue near 26th Street, or sip on one of 16 cocktails in a backyard garden with booths and a lilac marble-topped bar with a window for service .
Stay Gold can hold up to 150 people indoors with an antique gilded bar, a back room that resembles more of a lounge and the garden that has room for 40 seated guests with additional space for patrons to stand. Decorated with patterned wallpaper, the bar incorporates early twentieth century design including typefaces, emblems and images.
