Subway Rider Rubs Groin On Woman's Butt, Police Say

GRAMERCY, NY — A gross Subway rider rubbed his groin on a woman's butt as they stood near each other on a crowded train in September, police said.

Police are searching for the man, who they say inappropriately touched the woman while the two were on the subway on Sept. 25. The man took advantage of the crowded morning rush hour when he rubbed his groin on the woman's butt at about 8 a.m. on Sept. 25, police said in a statement. The two were riding a northbound 6 train from the 14th Street and Union Square station.

The woman, 20, told police that the man continued to follow her when she moved away from him. She left the train at the next possible station at 33rd Street, police said, and the man stayed onboard.

Police released a photo of the man, believed to be 35, on Wednesday and are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating him. The woman took the photo using her cellphone.
