'Tinder Trap' Video Explains Union Square Dating Stunt

"It's absurd isn't it? To judge people on such petty things as if they like to wear khakis," said actress Natasha Aponte.

GRAMERCY, NY — The creator behind the viral Union Square tinder date release a video documenting the "social experiment" Thursday.

Rob Bliss, behind Rob Bliss Creative that famously shot hidden-camera footage of a woman being catcalled as she walked through New York City for an anti-harassment non-profit, curated the mass Tinder date with hundreds of men who were made to compete for the affection of actress Natasha Aponte.

“What if Natasha were to swipe right on hundreds of guys invite them all on a date and treat them just like we’ve been treating them on Tinder?" Bliss asks in the video explaining the stunt, dubbed "Tinder Trap." "What would people say?”

Hundreds of unwitting men thought they had been invited to Union Square for a hot date Sunday — until Aponte walked onto a stage and announced the men had to duke it out in a series of strength and endurance games for the date.

"Do you have what it takes to win a date with me?” Aponte asks in the video.

She went on to dismiss would be suitors who didn't meet her criteria, including men who were under 5-foot-10, who had beer bellies, who were bald or who wore khakis.

Aponte and Bliss have taken heat for the stunt's cruelty and on ABC's "Good Morning American" Thursday, Aponte made an appearance with Bliss where she defended herself.

“I’m taking all the hits right now,” the actress said on the morning show. “It’s funny because all of the negative I’m getting from these guys are still in my inboxes trying to date me.”
