MANHATTAN, NY — The viral performance of two New York brothers has stunned thousands of people after the brothers were recorded performing Beatles songs that sound uncannily like the originals.

Amiri and Rahiem Taylor, identical twin brothers from Brooklyn, were recorded on Sunday at a subway station in Manhattan performing The Beatles' classic "Eight Days a Week."

A tweet with a video of their performance quickly went viral, with more than 54,000 retweets by Wednesday.

Since then, commuters throughout the city have spotted the brothers performing throughout the city and captured their remarkable renditions of the classic tunes.

The Taylors are part of a bigger band called Blac Rabbit. The twins' viral performance, first reported by NBC New York, has helped them gain thousands of new fans and followers, according to their band's website.

The Beatles have long had a profound influence on the Taylor twins' music: When the duo began writing songs in high school, "they decided 'why not learn from arguably the greatest song writing duo of all time?' and proceeded to teach themselves how to play guitar and write songs based off of the Beatles," according to their website.

Since forming the band, the Taylors have performed Beatles songs in the subway to make extra pocket money.

The band's popularity has exploded in 2018, after multiple videos of the twins' performing in the subway have gone viral. Blac Rabbit credits a Jan. 26 Instagram post from Nicolas Heller with launching their current wave of Internet popularity.
