14-Year-Old Equestrian From Dix Hills Qualifies For Nationals

The teen qualified to compete in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association National Finals in April.

A 14-year-old equestrian from Dix Hills has qualified to compete in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association National Finals.

Isabella Schupler, a St. Anthony's High School student, placed first in her class and qualified for nationals during the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Zone Finals in Pawling on March 24.

She rides for Farmstead Equestrian Team at Thomas School of Horsemanship in Melville.

IEA National Finals take place in Syracuse on April 20.

Two of Schupler's teammates also qualified for nationals: Gina Diliberti, of Melville, and Alyssa Baychuk, of Old Bethpage.

About 14,000 youth-equestrians take part in IEA, where they compete on unfamiliar tack on unfamiliar mounts. Horses are provided by the host barn and competitors draw their horses the day of competition.
