2 Men Caught Drag Racing In Dix Hills: Suffolk Police

The two men were driving more than 85 MPH and were issued summonses, police say.

DIX HILLS, NY — Two men were issued summonses after they were caught drag racing in Dix Hills early Friday, Suffolk police said.

Suffolk police officers James Padgett and Weldon Drayton were watching traffic on Deer Park Avenue, near Two Brothers Lane, when Padgett saw two southbound vehicles driving more than 85 MPH in a speed contest on Deer Park Avenue at around 12:30 a.m., police said.

J. Kashi-Kasendorf and Sean Heron were issued summonses, police said. Kashi-Kasendorf, 25, of Commack, who was driving a 2018 Honda, was issued four summonses for reckless driving, unauthorized speed contest, speeding, and tinted windows, police said. Heron, 21, of Greenlawn, who was driving a 2004 BMW, was issued seven summonses for reckless driving, unauthorized speed contest, speeding, operating with an uninsured vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating with improper plates, and operating an uninspected vehicle, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded.
