Car Bursts Into Flames In Suffolk

The SUV was fully involved and prompted the response of a local fire department.

DIX HILLS, NY — An SUV erupted into flames in Dix Hills on Friday night, according to P.I.O. Steve Silverman.

The Dix Hills Fire Department responded around 9:40 p.m. to the burning car on New Jersey Street near Deer Park Avenue, having sent two rescue engines, an ambulance, paramedic and first responder units.

Firefighters quickly doused the fire, and there were no injuries reported. The units were under the direction of Chief Alan Berkowitz and Assistant Chiefs Brett Tepe and Scott DiPino.
