Dix Hills FD To Hold Blood Drive Saturday

The Dix Hills Fire Department will be holding a blood drive on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The drive will be held at 115 E. Deer Park Avenue.

A donation can help save up to three lives.

Eligible donors must:

• Bring donor card or identification with signature or photo
• Eat well (low fat) and drink fluids
• No tattoos for past year
• Weigh a minimum of 110 pounds
• Be between the ages to 16 and 75. Sixteen year olds must have parental permission. Those ages 76 and older need a doctor's note.

Fifty bone marrow test kits will also be available. These kits are just a mouth swab that puts you on the National Bone Marrow Registry.
