Dix Hills Urban Air Proposal To Go Before Town Zoning Board
The proposed indoor trampoline park would replace a former Pathmark. Would you like to see the special-use permit granted?

DIX HILLS, NY — Urban Air Trampoline Park, an indoor amusement center, is getting closer to bouncing into Dix Hills.
The Town of Huntington Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to vote on Urban Air's application for a special-use permit at 6 p.m. Thursday, according to town spokeswoman Lauren Lembo. Should the zoning board approve Urban Air's permit, the Town of Huntington Planning Board would vote on the park's site plan, Lembo said. There's no date set for the potential planning board vote, but the department said it should move "quickly."
"...Most of the changes will be in the interior of the building," the town's planning department said. "Re-use of existing buildings or their footprints is always faster since Planning is looking at the site rather than the buildings."

The Huntington Town Board in July approved amending the town code to allow "commercial places of amusement" under commercial zoning, provided businesses obtain special-use permits, Newsday reported.
The proposed park would land in the Dix Hills Plaza shopping center at the corner of Old Country Road and East Jericho Turnpike. The space used to be a Pathmark.
