Driver Hospitalized After Truck Overturns In Dix Hills

The truck carrying concrete traffic barriers crashed on Saturday afternoon.

A truck driver was hospitalized after their vehicle overturned in Dix Hills on Saturday afternoon.

According to fire officials, the truck carrying concrete traffic barriers overturned on Deer Park Avenue near the Long Island Expressway South Service Road at 12:10 p.m.

The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Dix Hills firefighters and rescue volunteers responded to the scene with two heavy rescue trucks, two ambulances, first responder and paramedic units. Units were under the direction of Chiefs Berkowitz, Williamson, Tepe and DiPino, according to PIO Steve Silverman.
