Fire Damages Huntington Village Businesses
The blaze broke out Monday night, officials say.
A fire damaged several Huntington Village businesses Monday night, officials said.
The Huntington Fire Department responded to multiple reports of smoke in the vicinity of New Street, south of Main Street, at around 10 p.m., according to the Huntington Fire Chiefs’ Council.
Officials say firefighters located the fire in the rear of the Laundromat, located at 28 New Street, and began an aggressive attack on the blaze.

Huntington firefighters were assisted by the Halesite, Huntington Manor, Cold Spring Harbor, Centerport and Greenlawn fire departments as well as the Huntington Community First Aid Squad, officials said. Suffolk fire-rescue coordinators were also on the scene, providing assistance.
Nearly 80 firefighters battled the blaze with 12 trucks, and had the fire knocked-down within 30 minutes, under the command of Huntington Fire Chief Robert Berry, with operations by Deputy Chiefs Jesse Cukro and Brian Keane, according to officials.

Firefighters checked adjoining businesses for extension of the fire, which was declared under control in about 90 minutes. The Laundromat was damaged by the fire, with minimal fire extension and smoke and water damage to the adjacent bar called P’s & Q’s Auto Body, according to officials.
The New York Sports Club, Revive Nails and Spa, and 34 New Street, a former restaurant that closed in February, all sustained smoke damage, officials said.
There were no injuries reported, according to officials
The Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Town of Huntington Fire Marshal are investigating the fire.
