DIX HILLS, NY — Residents within the Half Hollow Hills Central School District boundaries voted to approve the 2020-21 school budget by a margin of 4,954 votes to 2,050.
Residents voted on the district's proposed $264,612,680 spending plan for the school year, a 1.83 percent increase from the current budget. To fund the increase, the district proposed a tax levy of $213,700,033 up 1.99 percent from the current year's.
This year, constituents voted by absentee ballot due to the coronavirus.
