Hour-by-Hour to Feels Like 110 Degrees: Suffolk County Weather Forecast

If you have the opportunity to spend the weekend in front of an air conditioner or inside a pool, you are going to want to do so.

An excessive heat warning is in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday for all of Suffolk County, minus the East End, which is under a less severe heat advisory. High temperatures will be in the mid-90s, but the heat index, how hot it really feels when the humidity is factored in, could climb to 110 degrees on Saturday and 105 degrees on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The combination of the heat and humidity will increase the risk for heat-related health issues, especially for the elderly, those with chronic health problems such as lung and heart disease, those working outdoors and other heat sensitive groups of people, the NWS says.

A hazardous weather outlook is also in effect for Suffolk, with the NWS warning that any thunderstorms that develop will be capable of producing torrential rainfall and localized flash flooding. There's a 20 percent of showers and thunderstorms during the day on Saturday and Sunday. At night on both days, the odds of showers and thunderstorms increases to 30 percent.

If you are heading to the beach Saturday, there's a moderate risk of rip currents at Atlantic-facing beaches, the NWS says.
