Jordan Eichholz Captures HHH East Lacrosse Prize
Receives fifth annual James C. Metzger Outstanding Player Award.
More than 100 student-athletes, coaches, parents and family members officially closed the Half Hollow Hills East High School boys’ lacrosse season with an awards dinner and season recap at the end of May.
Among the award recipients was goalie Jordan Eichholz, who received the fifth annual James C. Metzger Outstanding Player Award. This season, Eichholz was named All-American Honorable Mention, All-League and All-Division. A varsity starter since 2012, Eichholz led the team to the playoffs during three seasons.
During this season, Eichholz posted a career high save percentage of nearly 70 percent. He anchored one of the stingiest defenses in Suffolk County, allowing only 6.77 goals per game. He was one of the captains of this year’s 15-3 squad that played into the county quarterfinals.

The outstanding player award is named for James C. Metzger, the chairman and chief executive of The Whitmore Group, a leading insurance services and estate planning company in the New York metropolitan area that is headquartered in Garden City. Metzger played for Half Hollow Hills, setting assist records (82 in one season) and winning many awards during his high school playing days, including All-American honors and the 1977 Ray Enners Award for outstanding Suffolk County lacrosse player when he scored 102 points.
