Before you head out to celebrate, check out the latest forecast, which includes a chance of snow showers.
If you will be on the roads for New Year's Eve, you could be dealing with some wet and windy weather on Long Island.
There's about a 30 percent chance of rain and snow showers Saturday night into early Sunday morning, the National Weather Service says. Wind gusts Saturday afternoon into the night could hit 40 mph.
Any snow showers on the island should be light, the NWS says, and temperatures in the upper-30s overnight should prevent anything from sticking.
