Lupinacci Reminds Huntington Businesses Of January 15 Deadline For $1,359,910 In Grant Funding Available Under The CARES Act

Huntington – Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci has alerted local businesses to the January 15 deadline to apply for Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funding available to the Town of Huntington under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief & Economic Securities (CARES) Act.

“Businesses with fewer than 50 full time employees are eligible for up to $25,000, based on the number of full or part-time employees on a first-come, first-served basis for those who qualify,” said Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci. “We don’t want our Huntington business owners and job creators to miss out on this opportunity going into 2021.”

In September of 2020, the Town of Huntington was advised that it received additional funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to prepare for, respond to, and prevent the coronavirus. This funding, in the amount of $1,359,910, has been awarded through the Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) program, and is available to individuals and businesses that have been directly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, and to those community agencies that provide direct assistance to the residents of Huntington.

The Huntington Community Development Agency oversees the application and disbursement process on behalf of the Town.

• Businesses seeking assistance should complete the Economic
  Development application; in order to determine eligibility, please read all of the related
  documentation prior to submitting the application.
• Community service agencies should complete the CDBG-CV
  application.
• Individuals or families seeking rental assistance or economic relief for overdue utility bills should fill out the CDBG-CV
  Income Verification Form Tenant and the Landlord
  agreement form.

The deadline for all applications is January 15, 2021 at 4:00 PM.
