Man Assaults Another Man In Suffolk Parking Lot: Police

The man blocked the victim from leaving a parking lot before punching him, police say. The incident happened in April.

MELVILLE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the man who police say assaulted another man in a Melville parking lot in April.

A man was trying to back out of his spot in the parking lot of Uncle Giuseppe’s, at 890 Walt Whitman Road, on April 11 when another man blocked him in with his shopping cart, police said. When the man got out of his car, his attacker punched him several times, causing injuries to his face, police said. The victim drove himself to a nearby hospital, where he has since been treated and released, police said. The other man drove off in a 2016 white Chevy Silverado, police said. He is wanted for assault.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, texting "SCPD" and your message to "CRIMES" (274637) or by email at www.tipsubmit.com. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
