Man Charged With DWI After 3-Car Collision: Police
He collided into the back of a car, which caused it to crash into another car, police say.

DIX HILLS, NY — A man who was involved in a three-car collision Monday night in Dix Hills was charged with DWI, Suffolk County Police said.
Thomas Macy, 52, of Selden, was driving a 2019 Ford van southbound on Deer Park Road, near the intersection of East Deer Park Road, when he crashed into the back of a southbound SUV around 10:05 p.m., police said. The SUV then crashed into the back of a southbound four-door sedan, police said. The Ford van caught fire and became fully engulfed.
The people in the SUV, two women and a man, as well as the driver of the sedan, a man, were transported to Huntington Hospital for evaluation. Macy was not injured, police said.

Macy was arrested and charged with DWI. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.

The Dix Hills Fire Department responded with around 30 firefighters and emergency medical personnel using three rescue engines, two ambulances, first responder and paramedic units under the command of Assistant Chiefs Joe Williamson, Brett Tepe and Scott DiPino, according to P.I.O. Steve Silverman.
