Man Rescued From Overturned Car By Dix Hills Fire Department

The car flipped over after the man struck a utility pole and fence, trapping him.

DIX HILLS, NY — A man was driving in Dix Hills when he crashed into a utility pole and fence, causing his car to overturn. Members of the Dix Hills Fire Department responded to East Deer Park Road near Villanova Lane at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, public information officer Steve Silverman said.

The man was trapped when firefighters arrived. They used heavy rescue extrication tools to free him. The Dix Hills Rescue Squad brought him to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Third Assistant Chief Scott DiPino called the shots, as three heavy rescue trucks, two ambulances, first responder and paramedic units were dispatched.
