Man Seriously Injured In Melville Car Crash
He was thrown from the backseat of the car after the driver left the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn early Thursday, police say.
MELVILLE, NY — A man was seriously injured in a car crash in Melville on Thursday morning, Suffolk police said.
The driver, a 22-year-old Jackson Heights, Queens man, was driving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler westbound on the Long Island Expressway near Exit 48 when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned at around 3:15 a.m., police said. Another man, 22, of East Elmhurst, Queens, who was in the backseat, was ejected from the car, police said. The East Elmhurst man was brought to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow in serious but stable condition, police said.
The driver, as well as the front seat passenger, a 22-year-old man from Corona, Queens, were brought to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
