Melville Leads Long Island In Latest Snow Total

Melville residents had more shoveling to do than anywhere else on the island after Sunday's snowstorm.

MELVILLE, NY — Melville got 9 inches of snow during Sunday's snowstorm — more than anywhere else on Long Island — according to unofficial snow totals from the National Weather Service.

The second-highest total on the island was Syosset with 8.4 inches, while second place in Suffolk County went to Smithtown with 8.1 inches.
