Music, Tribute Open LI Fall Festival

Vendors, more entertainment due Saturday at big Huntington festival.

The 20th annual Long Island Fall Festival opened Friday night to music on two stages, food and a carnival.

A battle of the bands involving four Long Island acts got underway on the Chapin stage after a ceremony honoring Lawrence Kushnick, the Huntington Chamber of Commerce chairman who died in June, and who ran the festival. Members of his family and several political leaders and others turned out the unveiling of a plaque and small garden.

Saturday, more than 200 vendors will turn out as will a full slate of musical acts, led by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam.
