National Bagel Eating Contest Returns to Long Island This Weekend
Last year's champion ate five bagels in five minutes. Can you do better?

Do you really love Long Island bagels? Are you the next Takeru Kobayashi or Joey Chestnut? Do you like watching people binge eat food for sport?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you might be interested in attending the first National Bagel Eating Contest on Long Island this weekend.
Whoever eats the most dough will receive some dough in return; the winner will be awarded a $500 cash prize.

Last year, bagel eaters traveled from Philadelphia and Connecticut to participate in the first National Bagel Eating Contest, but a Long Island resident was able to claim the top prize, naturally.
Keith Tuzzolino, 33, of Dix Hills, was crowned the first Bagel Boss National Bagel Eating Champion after he shoveled down five bagels in just five minutes.

This year’s contest will be held live at two Bagel Boss locations on Sunday, Feb. 12 from 1 to 2 p.m.:
- 1352 Peninsula Boulevard in Hewlett
- 432 S Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville
All competitors must be over 18 years of age. Not a fan of eating beyond your personal comfort but still want to watch? Get your entry tickets here. The event will include a bagel expo with bagel tastings, bagel art, bagel games and more.
