Obituary: Salvatore ​Silvestri​, Longtime Member Of Melville FD

Salvatore Silvestri, of Melville, died on Saturday, March 24 at age 84.

Ex Capt. Of Co. 3, Ex Commissioner and 67 year veteran of the Melville Fire Dept. Past President of the Huntington Softball Hall of Fame, the Suffolk County and New York State Life Underwriters’ Associations.

Beloved husband of Janet (nee Schmitt) for 61 years. Loving father of Susan (Steven) Kuehne, Salvatore Jr (Denise) and Steven (Pamela). Cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Samantha, Steven Michael, Steven Richard, Salvatore III, Jacqueline, Kristin and great grandfather of Raeghan. Dear brother of Alfred, Theresa Daiuto, Gloria Perry, the late Anthony and the late Camille.

Visitation Monday & Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Melville New York. Interment to follow at Melville Cemetery.
